After nearly two years of preparation, Oregon & California Caboose #507 is finally ready to make the trek to its new home!
Join us on Friday, July 28th, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm to watch a live feed of the move, and observe the once in a lifetime transportation of a massive 1909 artifact in the Mid-Willamette Valley. The Caboose will be lifted onto a large flatbed trailer by a crane at its current resting point near Eugene, and will then make its way up I-5 to the WHC. A second crane will lift the Caboose onto the tracks that have been set on the WHC grounds, and then the exciting restoration process will begin.
WHC admission will be FREE all day, a live feed of the move as well as an informative interview will be on display in the theatre, fun train-related children’s activities will be available, and refreshments will be available.
