Event Details

Come join the Chinese Taiwanese Culture Association (CTCA) for our 4th annual Lunar New Year Celebration!

This year we will be celebrating the year of the DOG in Cat Cavern on Sunday, February 25th. Though Lunar New Year has passed (2/16), it is is usually celebrated throughout 15 days in Chinese culture; every day honors a different aspect/superstition of the holiday, all focusing on maximizing the chance of wealth, luck, and health in the new year. Lunar New Year, also referred to as Spring Festival or 春節 is a landmark holiday in Asian countries that symbolizes rebirth, good luck, and prosperity in the new year.

We will be working in collaboration with JSSL and ACE, as well as hosting a performance from Taiko club. Additionally, there will be performances from University of Oregon Wushu and White Lotus Lion Dance.
