The Willamette Heritage Center in downtown Salem, Oregon, is home to the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill (built 1889), the oldest standing timber-frame structures in the state, and the oldest single family home in the Salem area. Visiting guests can tour our historic structures to learn about our region’s earliest inhabitants (the Kalapuya), the Methodist Mission to Oregon, early family life in the region, industrialization in the Mid-Willamette Valley, and more. The WHC hosts five signature events each year; the Heritage Awards in April, Sheep to Shawl in May, Oregon Trail Live™ in September, an annual fall gala, and Magic at the Mill in December. Tour the Willamette Heritage Center Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
