“LECTURE WITH ARTIST TANNAZ FARSI
Thursday, September 26 | 7:30 p.m.
Roger Hull Lecture Hall, Hallie Ford Museum of Art
Free and open to the public

Tannaz Farsi, one of 13 artists featured in the “”What Needs to Be Said: Hallie Ford Fellows in the Visual Arts”” exhibition taking place at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art through December 20, will talk about her life and work.

As an artist, Farsi uses images, found objects, and sculpture to draw out connections between personal narrative and the larger tides of history. Her practice makes reference to her own life, her Iranian heritage, and widely held cultural icons, reconfiguring and combining them into rebuslike works that simultaneously suggest and thwart the possibility of legibility. She employs both the symbolic and the linguistic to suggest the complex ways in which meaning is translated, manipulated, and communicated.
