Learn to create your own designer fabric, sample color wheels, painted landscapes, and more in our July Textile Arts class, Intro to Dye Painting, led by Deb Sorem. Using fiber-reactive dyes, you’ll be able to make beautiful works of art for your home. These dyes are washable, and do not change the hand of fabric. They can be applied directly to fabric and do not require heat or steam to become permanent.
Exploring the transparent qualities of these dyes will be the primary focus of this class. Students will experiment with controlling the flow with thickener, use simple resists, and stamps. Learn to mix colors using the primary colors to develop a full array of shades.
This course requires pre-registration by Thursday, July 28th, at 5:00 pm. Pre-register at willametteheritage.org/classes-workshops/, or by contacting Kathleen Schulte at 503.585.7012, or email@example.com.
